Kitchen Blackboard

This is one of the blackboards I have been working on. I will be putting our weekly menu on it. This will go with my cherry theme. It is not perfect but that is the way it is going to be for now. I used my new chalk inks that will wipe right off with a damp cloth. They are so neat because they look like paint. So you can get nice bright colors. You can use any type of a frame. This is one I didn't like the picture anymore so I am reusing the frame. I used Masonite board, cut to size, and spray painted 3 coats of blackboard paint on it. I found I had to wipe it down with a damp cloth before I applied the chalk ink.

Another little project I did a while back is to hide those ugly faucets over the washer, so I did a little venue as you can see in the before and after pics, (This house is 20 yrs old). I use that nonslip shelf liner so it won't vibrate off. I have a front loader I really like but it spins a million mph! Need I say more. This was just some things I had around the house so I didn't buy anything new. I think sometimes we need to look at how we can reuse some of the things we have to get a new look or a different purpose for them.

Well that is all I have to share today. Have a blessed day! Sharon

Our Joy doesn't come from our circumstances it comes from a relationship with our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

I love this idea! It is so cute! I have a dryer hose I would love to hide. My faucet hoses have a little "door" on them but it never stays closed, lol!

Hi Sharon, I just love your chalk board. What a darling design you did for this. Really adorable. I also love how you hid the washer pipes and drain area. I never like seeing the mechanical stuff around and electrical cords either. You did a perfect job of hiding that area in a fun and decorative way.
You are an inspriation my dear.
Love it all.

Thank you for stopping by and your kind comment.
Have a great evening.
Hugs, Celestina Marie

First off, LOVE the chalkboard!!! I've seen those chalkboard paints at Aunt Ruthie's.. hmmm.. looks like I need to purchase some! :)

Also, THANK YOU for sharing the photo with your washing machine!!! I HATE having the water facuet showing behind the washing machine!! I never see anyone's w/d, so I was starting to think that I was the only one with this problem. I love the idea of having a plant there!! Mine is a top loader machine, but I can easily remove and replace the plant when I need to wash. I just don't like looking at the ugly faucet!! :)

Thank you for sharing!
