First Rose of 2010

This is a picture I took last night of our FIRST rose, And it smells wonderful! I know that may sound silly  but I haven't had any roses in our yard in a very long time. I planted this rose as a bear root several mo ago and then I moved it. Roses don't like to be moved at all. So I thought I lost it. I am sad that I did not jot down the type of rose it is. I should have kept the wrapper. But she is a beauty! God is such an awsome creator of beauty! It is a nice warm day of 95 here and no humitity to speak of. I LOVE SUMMER!!!!
Have a blessed day!

Hello, my friend ... it has been awhile! What a beautiful rose! My mother-in-law used to grow them before they went to the retirement center ... she especially loved this color! They are doing as well as can be expected ... slowing down quite a bit these days, though. I do hope all is going well for you, and yours. Life is changing here ... I'm working more on my photography these days, and enjoying that. I recently updated Xanga ... I was wondering if you still have your site there. I've missed the friends I made there, so I'm trying to do some much needed catching up! Our dear son is still in California ... he's going through schooling, and has just about a year left to go, so he won't be able to come home until after that. Seems the time keeps moving further, and further, out. Well, God is certainly in control, and I'm learning to rest in Him through all of it ... I know that Ian is safe in His hands ... but, this mother's heart misses him so much!

Do let me know how you're doing, and how your family is. I hope you're enjoying a nice summer where you are. We are having storm after storm here, and it's been in the upper 80's, and lower 90's ... it wouldn't be so bad, if the humidity levels were lower. Ah, well, after about 3 months, autumn will arrive, and with that, the cooler temperatures! You have a wonderful weekend, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Blessings,
~ Deborah <><
